Fresh Start
Okay, so this is my first time blogging, I'm a total newbie to this world! But hey, here goes nothing. I dyed my hair last Thursday! I have a really weird attatchment to my hair, and have been thinking of chopping it off lately, but then i realized that I couldn't do that. I wanted a change so i decided that dying it would be sufficient. Allie and I went to the store, bought some dye, and I had Carly (my roommate) help my dye my hair. When we were putting the dye on my hair it looked super dark, but you know how hair dye is, its a totally different color when it goes on your hair then when it is the finished product. When we were finished applying the dye, it was time to rinse it out. I decided to just take a shower, something I never do. Shower, that is...I take baths...not shower, don't worry, I do practice good hygiene. Anyway, I started my shower and the second the water hit my head, black dye splattered all over the walls of my shower. All over the shower curtain. Deciding that was probably a bad idea, I moved to a more comfortable form of "showering" which was actually just bathing. I closed the drain and the water started to fill the tub. I started to rinse my hair and when I sat up I looked at the water. Big mistake! The water was black. Thats right BLACK. Not brown, not even dark brown. It was straight out black. So by this time I am completely freaking out. I finish washing my hair and get out of the shower and towel dryed my hair. when i looked in the mirror after towel drying my hair, my hair was, yes thats right, you guessed it, BLACK! Even after I dried it, it was still black. My roommates said, "Oh you look like snowwhite!" hmm...not exactly what I was going for. Well I honestly hated it. Carly and Bri assured me thatt it would fade, and I told them I would give it 2 days before i tried to mess with color again to try to lighten it. On saturday i went to idaho Falls to see my family, and to do some laundry, and help my mom with some wedding favors. When I walked in the door, my mom saw me and hte first thing my mom said to me was, "What did you do to your hair?!" With the most disgusted/shocked look on her face. I then answered the question, which was probably meant to be rehtorical,"I dyed it!" Eventually I think my parents got more used to seeing me with dark dark hair. My mom started calling me Pocahontas. My dad some how kept mistaking me for a mexican, but who can blame him? So I now am officially a Mexican Pocahontas. My hair color is lightening, and it is starting to grow on me. I think it was a good change for the season change. Gotta keep it interesting right? Well even in the end, if all my hair dying experience did was give my friends and family a good laugh, then it was worth it.
